The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday warned that it would launch a an agitation if the government changed India's stand at the Doha Round of WTO negotiations for free trade.

"There will be struggle inside and outside Parliament if the government changes the policy at the Doha Round of WTO negotiations," Prakash Javadekar said during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha.

Observing that in the last five years the UPA government was following the policy pursued by the previous NDA regime, he said indications coming from the current G-8 Summit in Italy, suggest that there is a shift in India's stand.

The BJP leader said he had expressed his fear that developed countries might exert pressure on India to make the Doha Round of talks successful. "We warn the government to stick to the earlier stand," he said.
