Joshna Chinappa tamed giant-killer Gaby Schmohl of Switzerland in straight sets to win the US $9,200 German Ladies Open and earn her fourth WISPA Tour title at Saarbrucken-Gudingen.
The second seeded Chinappa won 11-6, 11-7, 11-6 in a 22-minute final on Sunday.
Chinappa survived some anxious moments during the summit clash against her Swiss opponent, who ousted top seed Line Hansen of Denmark in the semi-finals.
In the quarter-finals, the Indian ace had routed eighth seed Carrie Ramsey of England 11-3, 11-8, 11-3 and then got the better of French qualifier Melissa Alves, winning 11-5, 11-5, 11-6 in the semi-finals.
