Sachin wants to do his duty

Sachin Tendulkar is leaving for England today to join the Indian team for their league match against Kenya on Sunday. Board President Raj Singh Dungarpur confirmed his departure for England and praised SAchin's decision and said that it was an act of a great patriot, to be with his team when they need him most.

Earlier this evening the chairman of selectors Ajit Wadekar and MCA secretary Ratnakar Shetty called upon Sachin and asked him about his plans. Sachin replied that he wanted to rejoin the team at the earliest and would make an announcement this evening.

Tendulkar confirmed his decision to rejoin the team in time to play the league match against Kenya. India needs to win all three games of the league to make it to the 'super six' league.

Tendulkar lost his father on Tuesday night and his decision to leave for England has raised hopes again of India making it, especially after the team's dismal performance in their first two league games.

Board secretary Jaywant Lele was unable for comment since he was at Anshuman Gaekwad's residence to condole a bereavement in the family.
