PM calls all-party meeting to discuss Iraq

March 22, 2003 03:45 IST

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has convened an all-party meeting in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss the evolving situation in Iraq following the United States-led attack.

Vajpayee is expected to apprise the political leaders of his telephonic talks with US President George Bush after the war began.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Manmohan Singh and former Union minister K Natwar Singh will attend the meeting.

Gandhi has assailed the military action without UN sanction and expressed solidarity with the people of Iraq.
