Iraq fires missiles at Kuwait

March 20, 2003 17:05 IST

US soldiers were on Thursday sent scurrying for their gas masks and chemical suits after Iraq fired missiles at northern Kuwait.

Though the missiles, which began landing around 1300 IST, did not cause any damage, the impact was felt all the way in capital Kuwait City.

The defence ministry said that Iraq had fired at least six missiles, two of which were destroyed by US forces before they could hit their targets.
