Pak minister denies reports
of Osama's sons' arrest

March 08, 2003 02:50 IST

Pakistan's Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat on Friday denied reports that two sons of Saudi terror mastermind Osama bin Laden had been picked up in southeastern Afghanistan.

The reports of the arrest surfaced in Baluchistan, a province in southwestern Pakistan.

Baluchistan's home minister Sanaullah Zehri is believed to have told some reporters in Quetta that Osama's eldest son Saad, believed to be involved in the operations of Al Qaeda, the worldwide terror network headed by Osama, was arrested in an operation involving US forces.

US officials say they have no such information.
