Bomb kills nine at Jordan Embassy in Baghdad
August 07, 2003 15:11 IST
At least nine people were killed and dozens wounded in a bomb explosion outside the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad on Thursday.
While some reports described it as a truck bomb, others called it a car bomb.
No group has claimed responsibility and the motive for the attack was not immediately clear.
The blast, however, took place one week after Jordan gave asylum to the two daughters of the deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
An agency report quoted a US officer saying at least eight bodies had been taken from the scene.
