Strikes killed 30 civilians: Taleban envoy

The United States-led strikes against the Taleban militia in Afghanistan on Sunday had resulted in the death of innocent civilians, the militia's ambassador to Pakistan, Abdul Salam Zaeef, said.

He claimed that the US-led strikes targeted 30 sites, which resulted in the death of 30 civilians..

Witnesses, who said that the attacks had resulted in several deaths in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, apparently confirmed his claim.

"People have seen several bodies from the attacks," they told a news agency.

However, It could not be confirmed whether the bodies belonged to the militia's fighters or civilians.

But, contradicting the Taleban was the opposition Northern Alliance, which said that the attacks were accurate and no reports of civilian deaths were reported.

"The targets have been hit accurately ... in all the cities," spokesman for the Northern Alliance Abdullah Abdullah told CNN.

There haven't been reports of civilian casualties, he said, adding that two terrorist training camps had been destroyed near Kabul and Kandahar
