Pakistan on Tuesday reacted angrily to the reports of entry of opposition troops into Kabul.
Foreign office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said no single entity should occupy the Afghan capital and the city should be demilitarised.
Pakistan wants a broad-based multi-ethnic government to take over from the Taleban. It has also suggested that moderate Talebans should be a part of such a regime.
Pakistan, which once armed the Taleban militia in Afghanistan, is now a key player in the US-led coalition against terrorism.
