United States President George W Bush on Wednesday night said a resolution to the mideast imbroglio is not a necessary precondition to win the war against terror.
Apparently snubbing the Arab countries demanding peace in the mideast as the price for their support to the US-led strikes against Afghanistan, Bush said, "There's no doubt in my mind we'll bring (the) Al Qaeda (network) to justice, peace or no peace in the Middle East."
Bush said this during a joint appearance with visiting British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
"There is no way whatever in which our action in Afghanistan is conditional on progress in the Middle East," agreed the British leader.
"At the same time, irrespective of the action in Afghanistan, it is in everybody's interest that we make progress in the Middle East and we will strain every sinew we possibly can to do so," added Blair.
Eroding support for the campaign in Europe has prompted renewed efforts by Bush to bolster the international coalition behind attacks on Afghanistan's Taleban rulers.
