The Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press on Saturday reported that the Taleban had hanged three supporters of Afghan envoy Hamid Karzai who were caught in a clash.
The executions took place on Friday in Deharwad district of Uruzgan province, the agency quoted unnamed sources as saying.
The Taleban was hunting for Karzai -- a former Afghan deputy foreign minister -- who was believed to be on a mission to encourage the Pashtoon tribesmen to turn against the militia.
There was no confirmation from the militia or other sources on the fate of Karzai's detained followers.
