Two Pakistani nuclear scientists reportedly talked at length about nuclear, chemical and biological weapons with terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden in August, the Washington Post said on Wednesday.
The scientists -- Dr Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmud, the former director of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and chief engineer Dr Chaudhry Abdul Majeed -- have been questioned for more than two months by intelligence agencies, the daily reported.
The two scientists met bin Laden and three Al Qaeda officials over two or three days at a compound in Kabul, it said.
"They spoke extensively about weapons of mass destruction," an unnamed official was quoted as saying.
The scientists had claimed that they had discussed charitable work with bin Laden.
US intelligence officials were in constant touch with their counterparts in Pakistan concerning the investigation, the Post reported.
