Palestinian militant groups
to suspend attacks

Four Palestinian militant groups, including the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, have decided to suspend attacks in Israel until the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

"We are giving our enemy the chance to stop its assassinations, its destruction, its bombings, and we will equally stop our suicide bombings and armed operations in Israel starting midnight December 10 until the end of Ramadan," a joint statement released by the groups said.

Ramadan is expected to end next weekend according to the lunar calendar.
