The Women's Tennis Association celebrated forty years of growth and they did it in style.
The WTA managed to get together 17 of its No 1 players in London last week.
The event was called WTA 40 Love and among the guests were some of the sport's most iconic names, including Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Justine Henin and Serena Williams.
Caroline Wozniacki tweeted, “Sitting next to so many legends and the women who founded our great tour, was an amazing feeling! Proud and honored to be a part of this day!”
The very pretty Maria Sharapova rated the event as ‘fun’.
Ana Ivanovic posed for an exclusive photoshoot during the WTA 40 Love Celebration on Middle Sunday of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at Wimbledon.
The World No 1 Serena Williams tweeted, “I stand here humbled in front of all these legends and role models. We have come a long way baby.”
The Serbian beauty Jelena Jankovic wrote on her Twitter feed, “Celebrating 40 years of women's tennis! It was an honor being there with all the greats in our sport.”
The Swiss former champion Martina Hingis made a rare appearance at the event.
The Hall of Fame tennis player Monica Seles looked stunning.
The American former World No 1 Jennifer Capriati looked happy to pose for the shutterbugs and showed her sporting side.
Tracey Austin was seen enjoying the evening with the former great Chris Evert.
"I also have my heroes here as Billie J King and Margaret Court,” said Martina Navratilova.
The new tennis sensation Eugenie Bouchard and Madison Keys posed with the Billie Jean King trophy at the WTA 40 Love Celebration.
