Indian cricket's superstar Sachin Tendulkar boosted the morale of Mumbai Masters when he came out to cheer the home team, in their match against Krrish Delhi Smashers, in the Indian Badminton League, in Mumbai, on Tuesday.

Tendulkar came to the National Sports Club of India with wife Anjali and Mumbai team-mates Ajit Agarkar and Paras Mhambrey.

The batting ace seemed to enjoy watching Mumbai Masters's world No. 1 Lee Chong Wei, who raced to a 21-12, 21-16 victory over world No 17 Liew Darren in 35 minutes in the first match of the day.

"I met Sachin Tendulkar and I spoke to him. He came and saw me playing. Hopefully someday I will get a chance to go to the stadium and watch him play too," Wei said.

India's tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi was also present at the venue and spoke with Mumbai Masters co-owner Sunil Gavaskar in between matches.

Bhupathi is actively involved with the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL), which boasts of a galaxy of top stars like Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and is expected to kick-off next December.

Delhi's icon player Jwala Gutta was unable to turn out for Delhi Smashers in the mixed doubles because of a shoulder injury.

However, Gutta was at her vocal best as she cheered her team from the sidelines. But despite all that support they went down 1-4.
