Not even Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was spared from the football bug that had bitten the whole world over the last month.

Bachchan Sr tweeted about his trip to Rio de Janeiro and watching Brazil fall to another loss in the 3rd place match against The Netherlands at the just concluded FIFA World Cup.

“Back from the Copacabana beach Fest viewing Brazil loose (sic) again .. so disappointed and sad ! What has happened to this team !

Brazil, magical football has been taken over by rest of the world. Time to evolve ! Feels horrid to see you beaten at your own game,” he tweeted when Brazil lost 3-0 to clinch fourth place on Saturday.

He later tweeted pictures of him holding the replica of the World Cup at the world famous monument in Rio de Janeiro, ‘Christ the Redeemer’.

Christ the Redeemer, in Rio .. the wonder of the world ... the reality of its making is astounding !!

“I won the World Cup 2014 !!!... so help me Christ .. Christo the Redeemer in Rio,” he went on to tweet.

The veteran actor continued to pour out his angst against the hosts, tweeting, “I hope I am proven wrong, but Brazil days of winning World Cup in the years to come - over ! Others have copied them and won !!

Brazil ... they shall have brilliant individual players, but to make them function as a team you need a coach, not a couch !! Ouch

He then tweeted another picture at the statue that is listed as one of the eight Wonders of the World’.

“Seeking the blessings of Christ the Redeemer .. !!” he wrote on his Twitter page.
