Barcelona and Argentine forward Lionel Messi is the highest-paid football player in the world player ahead of David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, according to France Football magazine.
Messi, the key to Barcelona's success in the last few seasons, makes most of his money through endorsement deals. The ace footballer earns around 33 million euros per year which includes his 10.5 million euros as salary, 1.5 million euros in bonus and 21 million euros through advertising and other endorsements.
Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham, who now plays his football in the US with LA Galaxy, is a close second with 31.5 million euros, with most of his money also coming from endorsement contracts.
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo earns nearly 29.2 million euros, which includes his annual salary of 13 million euros, while the rest come from his advertisement deals.
