The fans favourite punching bag, manager David Moyes, had it again, this time on twitter when the fans vented out their anger for not including Juan Mata.
Little did they realise that the Spaniard was cup-tied.
The midfielder came to Moyes’ rescue and took to twitter to remind the fans that as had played for Chelsea earlier in the competition he was not eligible to take on Olympiakos.
He tweeted, “I'm cup tied so won't be able to play tonight... But I will be in Old Trafford supporting my teammates! We can do it!”
Moyes decision to play Antonio Valencia and Danny Welbeck in the wide-roles worked out just fine. Earlier this angered a number of Manchester United supporters, who took to twitter to blast the manager.
But with the quarter-finals berth secured, Moyes can catch a break at the moment.
