Yuki Bhambri will replace the injured Leander Paes in the Indian Davis Cup team for their away World Group play-off tie against South Africa from Friday. Yuki thus became the fourth member of the team, which would strive to enter World Group after 11 years.
The junior world number one was earlier included as fifth member of the team.
"Leander Paes informed me this morning that his right arm is injured and he will therefore, not be able to be part of the Davis Cup Team playing against South Africa," Anil Khanna, secretary general of the All India Tennis Association, said.
"Leander's absence will be missed as he has been a great crusader for the Davis Cup and Indian Tennis. Leander Paes will be replaced by Yuki Bhambri, the Australian Open junior champion of 2009," he added .
The draw for the tie will be held on Wednesday in Johannesburg.
