The home franchise team may well finish at the bottom, but Mumbai will host two of the three knock-out games, including the final, in the ongoing Bridgestone World Series Hockey.

The second semi-final of the eight-team event, on April 1, and the summit clash the next day will be staged in Mumbai at 2100 IST.

Bangalore, home of Karnataka Lions, will host the first semi-final on April 1, at 1900 IST.

The Mumbai Hockey Association's Mahindra stadium, which was refurbished for the WSH, was chosen from the eight venues across India, based on the feedback of the players playing in the league that "the quality of the turf and floodlights is superb".

"The response from the fans has been overwhelming at all the eight venues, but we had to finally zero in on two venues.

"WSH wanted to give the best makeover to the MHA Mahindra stadium, and we are pleased that the players are very happy with the quality of the turf and the floodlights," said Event Director, Preeti Mehta.
