India's campaign in the WSF men's World Team Squash Championship came to an end on Friday after they went down to top seeds Egypt 0-2 in a hard-fought quarter-final in Mulhouse, France.

Harinder Pal Sandhu and Saurav Ghosal played out of their skins but failed to stretch the title favourites.

Harinder was beaten by Karim Darwish 11-7, 11-4, 11-2 in 28 minutes while Ramy Ashour was made to fight before overcoming Ghosal 11-7, 11-9, 4-11, 13-11 in a little over an hour.

India will now play in the 5-8th place play-offs against sixth seeds Germany on Saturday.
