Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal has made it clear he is not prepared to throw in the towel despite rumours that Saturday's game against Real Mallorca will be his last in charge of the beleaguered Catalan giants.

"I don't feel like this is my last match with Barcelona," the Dutch coach told reporters on the eve of his side's critical league clash with Real Mallorca on Friday.

"Of course, in the world of football you never know what is going to happen and I have to admit that the pressure is very intense at the moment.

"But I have been pleased by the support of the players and that could be a sign that we are about to recover form and put together a good series of results."

Last week's 3-0 capitulation at home to struggling Sevilla -- the side's fourth defeat in five games --

brought tensions to a head.

After the game thousands of fans at the Nou Camp called for the resignation of president Joan Gaspart and the sacking of van Gaal.

The Catalan press have echoed the fans' demands and have been sharpening their knives against van Gaal who has been blamed for the team's dismal form in the league.

Two of the Barcelona's leading directors handed in their resignation during the course of the week citing their disagreement with the way the club is being run.

Their decision has increased the pressure on Gaspart to take urgent action to remedy the situation.

Rumours have been rife in the local press that no matter what the result of Saturday's match it will be the Dutchman's last in charge.
