President's high tea for Olympians

August 14, 2021 19:59 IST

President Ram Nath Kovind hosted high tea for the Indian contingent to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre on Independence Day eve, August 14, 2021. Vice President Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu also graced the occasion.

The seven medals the Indian contingent won in Tokyo -- one gold, two silver and four bronze -- is the highest number of medals India has won at an Olympics, more than the six medals Indian sportspeople brought home from the London Games in 2012.
