Golf prodigy Tanya Wadhawa, who returned a Grand Slam of wins in the Junior international golf circuit last year, put up yet another superb display on the World junior golf circuit this year, with one win and two runner-up finishes in three appearances.
The 10-year old Tanya, a product of the prestigious David Ledbetter Academy, captured the US Kids World Championship at Williamsburg, Virginia.
She had runner-up finishes at the Junior World Championship at San Diego and the Optimist International Championship at the PGA National Resort.
Tanya's performance comes in the wake of a brilliant performance by yet another Indian junior golfer, 11 year-old Varun Badhwar. Badhwar finished second at the Junior World Championship in July this year.
On way to her win at the US Kids World Championship, Tanya got the better of, among others, legendary tennis star Ivan Lendl's daughter. She won by five strokes over her nearest rival, Christina from Texas.
In addition to her title win, she also won in the Chipping and Putting contest in her age group category.
Last year, Tanya carded victories at Doral, played at the Doral Golf Club, Miami, the World Junior Championships at Singing Hills Golf Course in Pine Glen and the US Kids Junior Golf Championship for the first ever Grand Slam by an Indian on that circuit.
