Ghosal, the only Indian to make the main draw after Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa were ousted in the qualifiers, went down 8-11 3-11 9-11 to the Australian in 37

Oswell will now take on Malaysian Ong Beng Lee, who beat Welshman Alex Gough 8-11 11-5 11-9 10-12 11-9 in a thrilling encounter which lasted 69 minutes.

The 21-year-old Ghosal, who is a reigning national champion, recently received the Arjuna award making him the first squash player in a decade to be bestowed the honour.
