India's men's team was humiliated 2-0 by Pakistan in the team squash final at the South Asian Games in Colombo on Saturday, but their women saved the country the blushes by winning their summit clash with Sri Lanka by an identical margin.

Singles gold medallist Joshna Chinappa beat Tehani Guruge 9-5, 9-2, 9-2 before Dipika Pallikal, the beaten singles finalist, overcame the challenge of Nirasha Guruge 9-4, 8-10, 9-4, 9-4.

In the men's rubber, Pakistan's Aamir Atlas Khan handed a straight-set defeat to Harinder Pal Singh, winning 9-4, 9-2, 9-0, with his commanding mid-court play.

In the second match, Mansoor Zaman made short work of Gaurav Nandrajog en route to a 9-1, 9-1, 9-2 victory.

It was Pakistan's second squash gold in the Games as Mansoor had won the singles gold, beating Aamir in an all-Pakistan final.

Pakistan coach Fahim Gul expressed delight over the performance of players and said winning two gold medals was indeed commendable.

All the team members deserve appreciation for their hard work in leading the side to glory," he added.
