The Indian compound archery team and the mixed pair claimed three gold medals in the morning session, in Shillong, to swell their tally in the 12th South Asian Games on Monday.

The compound trio of Purvasha Shende, Jyoti Vennam and Lily Chanu downed their Bangladeshi opponents 228-217 in the final to open India's account in archery.

Asian Games gold-medallist Abhishek Verma then inspired the Indian men's trio of Rajat Chauhan and Manash Jyoti Changmai with all perfect 10s from his eight shoots, for another one-sided win, as they claimed their second gold downing Bhutan 230-219.

The dashing Delhi-lad then paired up with Purvasha to hammer the Bangladeshi pair of Sushmita Banik and Mohammad Anowerul Kadar 156-138 for his second and India's third gold.

India are in line for two more gold medals when they resume the individual event in the afternoon session.
