Top seeds, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy are just one step away from notching up their second Grand Prix title of the season as the duo reached the finals of $55,000 Scottish Open, in Glasgow on Saturday.

The World No. 22 pair of Pranaav and Sikki, who had won the Brazil Grand Prix in September, progressed to the summit clash after edging past Denmark duo of Mathias Christiansen and Sara Thygesen 21-18, 23-21 in a 46-minute encounter.

The duo will next take on the winners of the match between French pair of Gaetan Mittelheisser and Emilie Lefel and Malaysian combo of Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai on Sunday.

Pranaav and Sikki, who had an easy run till the semi-finals, had to dig deep especially in the second game of the semi-final.

In the opening game, Pranaav and Sikki surged to a 5-3 slender lead and kept extending their margin to lead 17-12. However, the Danish pair clawed back at 18-18 before the Indian duo reeled off the next three points.

In the second game, Pranaav and Sikki once again opened up a massive 7-1 lead only to see it evaporate as Mathias and Sara drew parity at 14-14 and then turned the tables holding a 16-14 lead.

But the Indian pair ensured there are no hiccups as they showed better nerves to emerge victorious.
