Commonwealth Games silver medallist pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa progressed to the semi-finals of the Canada Open badminton tournament after claiming straight sets win over Chan Kaka Tsz Ka and Yuen Sin Ying in their women's doubles contest.
Jwala and Ashwini overcame the Hong Kong duo 21-19, 21-13 in a thrilling contest that lasted mere 27 minutes at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary, Canada.
The third seed Indian pair will next face Japan's Shiho Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto for a berth in the summit clash.
