Scottish Open: Pawar ousted, India's campaign ends

It was curtains for India at the Scottish Open after men's singles player Anand Pawar and men's doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy bowed out of the 50,000 Grand Prix badminton tournament, in Glasgow.

Indian badminton player Anand PawarThe 11th-seededPawar, notched up a 21-13, 21-13 win over Germany's Dieter Domke but he failed to get across top seed Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, suffering a 21-12, 10-21, 13-21 loss to the Dane in the quarter-finals.

In men's doubles, top seeds Manu and Sumeeth too had reached the quarter-finals with a 17-21 21-17, 21-14 win over England's            Christopher Coles and Netherlands's Jelle Maas but the duo could not tame fifth seeds Andrew Ellis and Peter Mills of England, losing 17-21, 15-21 in a 32-minute match.
