Sania Mirza earned the opportunity to win her third WTA doubles title of the season as she and Yaroslava Shvedova breezed into final of the Citi Open after handing a humiliating 6-0, 6-1 defeat to Shahar Peer and Sloan Stephens.
It took the Indo-Kazakh pair just 35 minutes to dispatch the fourth seeds Israeli-American pair from the semi-finals of the $220,000 hard court tournament.
Now they will fight it out with Olga Govortsova of Belarus and Russian All Kudryavtseva in the title clash.
Sania paired with Yaroslava for this tournament since her regular Tour partner Elena Vesnina decided to skip the event.
If Sania manages to win the final, it will be her 12th WTA career doubles title and third of the year.
She triumphed at Indian Wells and Charleston with Vesnina and fell in the final of the French Open.
