Sania Mirza, Sehwag congratulate Modi

Many sports stars have congratulated the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Lok Sabha Polls result, after current trends indicate a clean sweep for the party for a second consecutive term.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi looks set to continue his position for 5 more years.

Amid such a scenario, former cricketers Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman and tennis sensation Sania Mirza were among sports personalities to express their views on social media.

 

“India has won. The world’s largest democracy has given it’s mandate. Many congratulations to Shri @narendramodi ji on being the leader of this great victory. May the second innings be even better and India continue to progress and reach greater heights. Jai Hind #VijayiBharat,” tweeted Sehwag.

Sania, on the other hand, tweeted: “Congratulations Honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi Sir for your victory... Best wishes”

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who made his political debut during these elections, also looks set to bag victory from East Delhi constituency and was duly congratulated on the same by Harbhajan.
“Congratulations my brother for your win @GautamGambhir more power to you @BJP4India.”

Harbhajan also congratulated PM Modi, “Congratulations sir @narendramodi and @AmitShah nd @BJP4India team for winning the elections in style...”

VVS Laxman tweeted, “Congratulations to @BJP4India and Shri @narendramodi ji on a resounding victory. Sincerely hope that India prospers under your leadership in the next 5 years.”
