Barker, El Shorbagy shock top seeds to enter semis

Fifth seed Peter Barker of England upset top seed Ramy Ashour of Egypt 11-13, 11-7, 11-8, 11-1 in 45 minutes in the quarter-finals of the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters 2011 at Siri Fort Sports Complex in Delhi on Friday.

The Egyptian world No 2 was restricted in his play due to hamstring pull.

In another upset of the day, sixth seed Mohamed El Shorbagy stunned second seed Karim Darwish 11-9, 8-11, 11-5, 11-3 in 60 minutes, in the all Egyptian quarter-final.

Meanwhile, tn the third quarter-final match, James Willstrop of England beat his countryman Daryl Selby 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5 in 65 minutes.

Frenchman Gregory Gaultier thrashed Laurens Jan Anjema of the Netherlands 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 in 38 minutes in a one-sided quarter-final and became the first to reach the semi-finals.

Fourth-seed Gaultier foxed the eight-seed Jan Anjema through-out the match and used all four corners of the court to make the Dutch run. On the other hand, Anjema failed to concentrate and gave away the match to Gaultier.
