Indian tennis star Sania Mirza on Wednesday said she feels honoured to have been born in an era which saw the emergence of iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
"For me it is a matter of pride that I have been born in the age in the which Tendulkar is playing", she said.
"Sachin Tendulkar is not just the star of the country but also of the world," she said adding that not just for players but also for the common people he is a great source of inspiration.

Asked if "Bharat Ratna", the highest civilian honour of the Country, should be bestowed on Tendulkar who completed his 50th test century in South Africa recently, Sania said that it was a decision that has to be taken by the government.
Tendulkar hit his 50th Test century in South Africa recently and there have been demands for honouring him with the Bharat Ratna from all quarters including politicians.
