Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ace shuttler Saina Nehwal for winning the Australian Open Super Series event in Sydney, on Sunday.

"Congratulations @NSaina for the stupendous victory. The entire nation is very proud of your sporting accomplishments," Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to congratulate India's No 1 badminton star.
Indian cricket player Shikhar Dhawan and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also congratulated the player on the social networking platform.
"Congratulations @NSaina on your second Australian open title! You make us PROUD!," wrote Dhawan.
Bachchan tweeted:"@NSaina .. you continue to make us proud to be an Indian .. well done ..Champion at Australian Open!!"
The 26-year-old from Hyderabad eked out a 11-21, 21-14, 21-19 over the World No 12 Sun Yu in a fighting summit clash that lasted an hour and 11 minutes.
BAI announces 10 lakh award for Saina
The Badminton Association of India (BAI) announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for Saina Nehwal for winning the Australian Open Super Series badminton tournament.
It was Saina's first title of the season.
"I congratulate her for this marvellous victory. This is another milestone in her career. This win will sure motivate her for the most important Rio 2016 Olympics where she is leading the Indian Badminton contingent. I also congratulate her Coach Vimal Kumar and Support Staff, who have been on their toes to bring out the best of Saina," BAI President Akhilesh Das Gupta said.
