Indian tennis round-up: Sania-Hingis ousted from Rogers Cup

Sania Mirza and her doubles partner Martina Hingis were ousted from the Rogers Cup after the top seeds suffered a straight sets loss to Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik in Toronto on Saturday.

The Indo-Swiss team lost 3-6, 2-6, to their fourth seeded opponents in the semi-final the $2,513,000 Premier hard court tournament.

Sania and her Swiss partner broke their rivals twice but lost their serve five times in the match which lasted just 59 minutes. Both the pairs saved four break points each.

Sania and Hingis won 41 points to 54 of their rivals.

The duo has now earned 350 points each and shared $32,520.

Yuki in line to win 2nd doubles Challenger title

Yuki Bhambri and Matthew Ebden came from behind to shock the second-seeded American pair of Austin Krajicek and Nicholas Monroe, to reach the summit clash of the ATP Challenger event, in Aptos in the United States on Saturday.

The unseeded Indo-Australian pair knocked out the local favourites 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 in the doubles semi-finals of the $100,000 hard court event.

They next face Australia's Chris Guccione and Artem Sitak in the final.

This year, Yuki already won one doubles Challenger title while finishing runners-up in singles twice.
