It was a week that saw Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar celebrate his 43rd birthday by making it a memorable day not just for himself but also underprivileged kids from the 'Make-a-wish-in-India' Foundation.
Also making the week special was the lighting of the Olympic torch, marking the 80-year anniversary since the relay.
There was also plenty of drama on the football field with Arsenal winning earlier in the week and then dropping crucial points against Sunderland on the weekend.
Also Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo missed his first league game of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury against Villareal on Wednesday, keeping him out of the Spanish club's match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
