PICS: Dutch street goes orange for national team

June 21, 2021 21:08 IST

The Netherlands are playing their first championship since the 2014 World Cup and the people of the Marktweg in The Hague decided to go for an "extreme" makeover to mark the national team's comeback at the international stage at Euro 2020.

Over 30 km (almost 20 miles) of flags and banners have been used to cover the nearly 800 metres long street in a sea of orange.

All houses on the street have been wrapped in orange plastic sheets and red-white-blue Dutch flags, with slogans painted all over.

The Dutch, who play North Macedonia on Monday, have already reached the knockouts.
