Nothing, it seems, can stop courageous amputee Kelly Cartwright, who lost her right leg to cancer at just 15, from pursuing her dreams.

Kelly Cartwright is the first gold medal-winning Paralympian contestant of Dancing With The Stars.

The 26-year-old is also the show’s first pregnant contestant.

Kelly Cartwright That’s right!

Cartwright is expecting her first child with partner Ryan Miller in December.

She took to her blog late last month to share the happy news with her followers.

She wrote: 'I look forward to sharing this journey to motherhood with the many people who have followed and supported me in my athletics career.

This courageous amputee knew she was expecting when she was asked to be on Dancing With The Stars.

There are many firsts against her name and she never doubted she could dance her heart out on her favourite reality series.

Cartwright is an above-knee amputee. She was diagnosed with cancer inside her knee joint and had her right leg amputated at the age of 15.

But it did not deter her to dream to realise her true potential.

Kelly Cartwright She broke the women's 200m ambulant world record by nearly four seconds at the Arafura Games in Darwin in 2009 and walked away with a commendable gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic games.

Will she make history once again with Dancing With The Stars?
