Now, Sania joins Swachh Bharat campaign, cleans Hyderabad road

Tennis star Sania Mirza joined the Swachh Bharat campaign, cleaning a road in Hyderabad before nominating nine persons, including fellow-sportspersons and Bollywood personalities, to join the movement.

Sania, who was nominated by industrialist Anil Ambani, her father Imran and her team took brooms and cleaned one of the roads.

The Incheon Asian Games gold medallist later posted a video of her effort on her Twitter page.

"This is our way of trying to contribute, hope this will follow. We have to keep the movement going, so I would like nominate nine persons," she said in her video message.

She nominated fellow-tennis star Somdev Devvarman, squash player Dipika Pallikal, teen badminton sensation P V Sindhu, 2008 Olympic gold medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, actor Ritiesh Deshmukh, director Sajid Khan, Telugu movie star Ramcharan and Telangana politician K T Rama Rao.

The Swachh Bharat is a movement for cleanliness, was launched by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanti.
