Portugal football team captain Cristiano Ronaldo is on an award claiming spree, and this time his achievement is becoming the most liked person on social networking website Facebook.
The Portuguese winger has overtaken singer Shakira at the top of the charts, totaling up to 107 million likes on Facebook and is now approximately 29 million likes ahead of Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.
Reigning world player of the year Ronaldo is now about 5,000 likes ahead of Shakira, the wife of Gerard Pique, and is also 24 million likes ahead of his club, Real Madrid, who currently sit in the 11th place in the 'likes' league with 23 million likes.
Barcelona have beaten real to tenth place.
However, it is not just on Facebook where Ronaldo is one of the most liked players. He is also the most followed sports person on Twitter, with 34 million followers, a good million ahead of closest competitor Kaka.
