Haryana police to honour London Olympians from state

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda will honour Olympics bronze medal winner Yogeshwar Dutt and all other athletes who participated in London Games in an awards function to be organised by Haryana Police in Chandigarh on August 23.

An official spokesman said that the Director General of Police Ranjiv Singh Dalal, senior officers of Police Department and state government and players of Haryana Police would be present on the occasion.

He said that hockey players Sardara Singh and Sandeep Singh, discus thrower Seema Antil and boxers Vijender Singh, Vikas Krishan and Jai Bhagwan who participated in London Olympics would also be honoured on the occasion.

Of the six Indian medal winners in the recently concluded Olympic Games, four either belonged to Haryana or associated with the state.
