Commonwealth Games gold medallist Katulu Ravi Kumar and N Soniya Chanu will represent India in the weightlifting competition at the London Olympics.
Indian weightlifters earned two quota places for the Olympics -- one each in men's and women's sections -- in the April 22-30 Senior Asian Championships at Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
The Indian Weightlifting Federation on Thursday announced that Kumar (men's 69kg) and Chanu (women's 48kg) will represent the country in the July 27-August 12 Games.
"Ngangbam Soniya Chanu in 48kg women will represent India in Olympic Games whereas Katulu Ravi Kumar in 69kg men will participate," read a statement from the federation.
The two lifters were chosen at Wednesday's selection committee meeting in Delhi.
Chanu won a bronze in the women's 48kg Senior Asian Championships while Kumar finished sixth in the men's 69kg.
This is the first Olympic quota place India earned in men's weightlifting, since the 2000 Sydney Games.
Thandava Murthy Muthu competed in the men's 56kg at Sydney and finished 16th with a total lift of 245kg.
