Latest summer transfers: Chelsea sign Belgian forward Batshuayi

Chelsea have signed Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi from Olympique Marseille on a five-year contract, the Premier League club said on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was in the Belgium squad which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.

"I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career," Batshuayi told the club website.

"I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at StamfordBridge."

He said his Belgium teammates Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, both Chelsea players, had told him many good things about the London club.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family, I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season," Batshuayi added.

Poland midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has signed a five-year contract with Paris St Germain, the French champions said in a statement on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Krychowiak, a member of the Poland team who were eliminated by Portugal in the quarter-finals of the European Championship in France.

He joins PSG from Spanish side Sevilla, where he played under the guidance of Unai Emery who has now been appointed PSG coach.

PSG did not disclose the transfer fee, which was expected to reach around 25 million euros ($27.9 million), according to Polish and Spanish media.

Krychowiak started his career at the youth academy of Girondins Bordeaux and played for French clubs Stade Reims and Nantes before joining Sevilla in 2014, winning two successive Europa League titles with the Spanish club.

"I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris St Germain," Krychowiak said in a statement.

"The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision," he added.

Krychowiak becomes PSG's second major signing under Emery after attacking midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, who has joined from Ligue 1 side Nice on a two-year contract.

Emery has replaced Laurent Blanc, who parted company with PSG after three seasons in charge.

The ambitious and wealthy Paris club achieved their second successive domestic treble by winning Ligue 1, the French Cup and the League Cup, but they lost in the Champions League quarter-finals for the fourth successive season.

Leicester agree to sign midfielder Mendy

Leicester City have reached agreement with French club Nice to sign midfielder Nampalys Mendy, the Premier League champions said on Sunday.

Nampalys MendyThe 24-year-old Frenchman has agreed a four-year contract and will become Leicester's third signing since winning the title after goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler and defender Luis Hernandez.

Mendy played for Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri during a spell with Monaco.

“The team have just enjoyed a great season and it’s excellent to be here. For me I want to play at this level. I like the Premier League and I follow every match. It’s fast and physical and I want to impose myself on the league," Mendy told the club website.

“I know the coach, I know his mentality and I know his philosophy. When he speaks it’s direct and clear and for me I like this."
