Kapur, Randhawa miss cut at Italian Open

Indian golfers Shiv Kapur (71) and Jyoti Randhawa (74) missed the cut for the second successive week, crashing out of the BMW Italian Open after contrasting second-round cards in Turin.

While Kapur turned in an improved one-under 71, Randhawa could not raise his game and stuttered to a second successive 74 in the second round.

Kapur ended his campaign with a total of one-over 145, a shot adrift of the cutline.

Randhawa, on the other hand, finished way down with a total of four-over 148.

A 10th tee starter, Kapur stumbled to a bogey on the 11th but made the turn even-par after gaining a stroke on the 18th. In the front-nine, Kapur struck a birdie on the first hole itself and needed to pick up another shot to be inside the cutline.

But the Indian only managed to par his remaining holes.

Randhawa, in contrast, played out a roller coaster round. Playing his back nine first, the seasoned campaigner found a bogey on the 10th hole itself.

A birdie on the 12th brought him back on par but he was undone by a double bogey later on. The front nine didn't go too well either as he crashed out of the tournament.

At the top, Fredrik Andersson Hed carded a 66 to take the sole lead with a total of eight-under 136.
