Substitute Tolgay Ozbey scored an injury time goal as dominant FC Goa rallied to beat Delhi Dynamos 2-1 and register their maiden win in the inaugural Indian Super League on Saturday.
Ozbey snatched the winner in the 90th minute after Shaikh Jewel Raja (72nd minute) equalised for the hosts.
The Dynamos went ahead as early as in the seventh minute through skipper Mads Junker.
The victory takes FC Goa up the table. They have four points from five matches, while the Delhi side remain on six points from five games.
FC Goa coach Zico made three changes, bringing in Mandar Rao Dessai, Romeo Fernandes and Jewel Raja, and the move paid off as the trio put the opponents under tremendous pressure, especially in the second half.
FC Goa, who were looking for their first win, started on a promising note as they made inroads and had two early chances to take the lead but striker Miroslav Slepicka failed on both occasions.
The visitors, on the other hand, played a composed game and tried to catch the rival defence on wrong foot with counter-attacks.
The Dynamos' ploy paid off as they took the lead in the seventh minute when Junker scored from the second attempt. It was Hans Mulder who orchestrated the move from the middle and relayed the ball to Bruno Herrero Arias, on the right, who in turn sent a goalmouth cross for Junker to do the rest.
The home team got a double blow when they lost their play-maker, Andre Santos, after he got injured while going for a tackle with Stijin Houben.
But that did not deter Goa as they continued to enjoy midfield superiority and came up with couple of good moves. However, the tale of miss chances continued as Miroslav Slepicka first saw his header deflected by a rival defender and go out and latter Jewel Raja missed an open chance after being fed by Romeo Fernandes's cross from the right.
The trend continued in the second half as well as FC Goa made repeated forays but their strikers failed to utilise the chances.
Goa, however, found the equailser in the 72nd minute when a move from the left saw Mandar Rao Dessai send a lofted cross to Fernandes, who in turn made a goalmouth header for Shaikh Jewel Raja to head home at the far post.
The goal spurred the home team and expectedly they went all out for the winner, which they finally got in the 90th minute.
A swift move from the middle saw Slepicka put substitute Ozbey through with a delightful pass; he chested the ball well, tricked Dynamos goalkeeper Kristof Van Hout, who was off his mark, and despatched home, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
