Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who is the co-owner of FC Goa, couldn't control his emotions when his football team crashed out in the semis of the Indian Super League.
Chennaiyin FC reached their second ISL final in three years after clinching a 4-1 aggregate win over FC Goa. Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Chennayin FC went on to register a comfortable 3-0 win in the second leg on Tuesday to storm into the final.
Kohli, a fighter on the cricket field, poured his heart out on Twitter. "Disappointed that we couldn't make it to the finals, but great courage shown by the boys! Congratulations on a splendid season to Sergio and the team.”
Being a football fan, no doubt FC Goa is close to Kohli's heart.
Incidentally, it was at one of the ISL matches in 2014 that Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma made their first public appearance together.
For the record, it was the FC Pune City vs FC Goa match in Pune in October 2014.
