India thrash Sri Lanka to retain South Asian Basketball title

Defending champions India outclassed Sri Lanka 93-44 to retain the South Asian Basketball Championship (SABA) at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Indian basketball players celebrate after defeating Sri Lanka in final of the 4th South Asian Basketball championship in Bengaluru on SundayAlthough the title holders had four players in double digits, Tamil Nadu's centre Aravind Annadurai emerged top-scorer with 22 points, including one three pointer.

With the win, India also qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship in China in September.

While India bagged the gold medal, Sri Lanka and Nepal finished second and third respectively.
