Punjab's premier outfit, JCT, continued their unbeaten run in the ONGC Indian Professional League, defeating Sporting Clube de Goa 4-2 in the seventh round at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Sunday.

JCT's Brazilian striker Eduardo De'Silva scored a brace to help the millmen collect three points to take their tally to 15 from seven matches. The millmen with four victories and three draws are second in the league standings behind Dempo Sorts Club.

Sporting Clube with just three points remain at the bottom with four defeats and three draws.

It was an action packed encounter between the two sides, with the home team drawing first blood in the 3rd minute. An unmarked Eduardo collected a pass from the right flank and from the top of the penalty area sent a rasping shot to beat the Sporting custodian.

Bouyed by the early goal, the JCT strikers were all over the Sporting goal and in the 8th minute, the millmen again struck through Baljit Singh Sawhney.

In the 19th minute striker Baldeep Singh made it 3-0 for the home side.

However three minutes later, the Sporting Clube strikers got the JCT defenders off guard and Denziel Franco's gentle shot beat from inside the penalty area beat the advancing JCT custodian (3-1).

Eduardo got his second goal in the very first minute of the second half, even as Sporting Clube players were still settling down. Baldeep sent a pass in the middle which the agile Brazalian latched onto and after beating two defenders he shot home to make it 4-1.

The Goan side managed to pull one back in the 68th minute when their striker Lawrence Adje in a goal mouth melee managed to slide the ball into the net (4-2).

JCT have now won two matches and drawn one at the Guru Nanak stadium this season.
