Four-time overall World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn put the 22 hardest months of her career behind her with a 60th World Cup victory in a downhill at Lake Louise in Canada.

I always believed in myself, says Tiger's girl

The victory was her first in nearly two years.

Lindsey Vonn's triumphant comeback to skiing this weekend provided an example for her boyfriend, golf star Tiger Woods, in his return from a back injury.

Woods, meanwhile, failed on his modest goal of escaping last place in the 18-man event when he suffered another embarrassing chipping display, taking a triple-bogey at the par-five 13th in Hero World Challenge on Sunday.

But the supporting boyfriend that Woods is, he was quick to praise the efforts Vonn made in her return at World Cup races in Canada.

He tweeted, “I competed and Linds won.”

He later added to that tweet, “So happy for Lindsey Vonn for taking home her 60th win on the World Cup this weekend. Hard work pays off.”

Earlier, the US skiing star Vonn has revealed that her boyfriend and golf star Tiger Woods is an ‘inspiration’ to her.

The 30-year-old Olympic ski racer, who has been sidelined for much of the last two years after undergoing separate bouts of surgery on a recurring knee injury, said that the couple went through rehab with their injuries at a similar time and so could help each other.

The Olympic gold medal winner and four time overall World Cup champion added that the duo was in the gym together and so could push each other and motivate each other.

Vonn continued that she thinks they both helped each other a lot through that time and she drew a lot of inspiration from him and thinks he does the same with her.
